it might only last for today, but oh man does it feel good to be back in the kitchen.
Apart from the lurid gingerbread men/angel/bell/trees (which the boys keep eating and I’m like ‘no! they’re for your teachers’) today I’ve managed to make six mini christmas cakes, a batch of stewed rhubarb and there’s my first ever batch of apricot jam on the stove (oh my! the flavour is divine) and I’ve got a leg of lamb slow cooking in the oven.
The boys are at swimming with Chef (it’s his day off, for the last two weeks he’s worked a Thursday so I’ve had to lug all four boys to swimming for two of them on my own. bad.) and on their return there shall be dinner and the hanging of lights outside.
