So Grover’s Rocket Cake was a lot less phallic than Jasper’s

But it was also a testament to my appalling craft skills. Houston, we have a problem:

Luckily, the party boy didn’t care one jot

Plum tuckered

My cooking mojo is back. We’re talking Japanese, curries, jams, relishes. It’s nice.
I’m crocheting – photos to come to prove my skillz.
After drinking up a storm at Wollombi I seem to have got it out of my system. No longer craving sugar and vino. I’ve also quietly been dealing with the diet. I’m down a kilo in two weeks. Better down than up I say.
Bizarro World still essentially in play over here. Boys fighting about 80 per cent less than previously. It is delightful.
Lots on my mind at the moment about disability and services and money and how the government just doesn’t seem to get it – that it’s not all about money (of course some aspects of it are – such as respite services and supporting carers) but actually about approach and attitude and ensuring we are caring for those who need help in the most appropriate way. In our schools I see a community totally changed in its attitudes to those with special needs but a system still stuck with methods and structures that are outdated and inappropriate.
So frustrating.

Am in the throes of an appalling run of bad sleep – night sweats, teeth grinding (my teeth are aching), Grover waking and so on. So of course, tonight I can not sleep. Typical.

These two consistently make my week (they appear every Thursday night on one of our public broadcaster’s current affairs programs):

And this was their effort this week on the election. Too funny. And this part, this is just pure brilliance:

BRYAN DAWE: What electorate are you in?

JOHN CLARKE: We’re in Australia, that’s where the voting is going to occur..

BRYAN DAWE: No, no, what electorate, what area are you in?

JOHN CLARKE: Precisely, we’re in media coverage.

BRYAN DAWE: Oh media coverage, that’s near Gossip I think, isn’t it?

JOHN CLARKE: Well it’s beneath Gossip and between Prejudice West.

BRYAN DAWE: Is it north of Rumour?

JOHN CLARKE: Yeah,Northwest of Rumour…

JOHN CLARKE: It’s actually got a border with both Rumour and Innuendo.

BRYAN DAWE: Who’s the standing member for Innuendo?

JOHN CLARKE: Very good, you’re good.

Another new favourite. In fact, I think I’ve new favourited this before, but there you go:
