Well if you could just have a word with my 13 yo who is currently angst-ridden about the fact she has no best friend and that other girls act differently around teachers, being all coy and girlish, and how she just doesn’t get it becuase why would you change who you are depending on who you talk to, and, and, and … yeah, if you could just have a word with her about the fact that it will all work out well in the end that would be great, thanks.

OMG how wonderful would it be to go back to that scared know-it-it-all 13yr old and tell her it will all be okay — and that she’ill live quite happily past 30.

I cannot imagine how this song escaped my notice – though I am probably ten years older than you and must have either been terribly punkish in manner and song by then or very Joni Mitchell with my black tights and Frye boots.
