I have five friends or family members pregnant at the moment.

Two have had babies in the last month.

One is in labour right now. She could even be pushing!

I saw this on Mamamia today and loved it:

If you could go back to just before you became a parent what would you tell yourself?

For me? That yes, it is going to be scary and hard and you will never ever be the same and yep this is going to put you in a section of society you never thought you would be in but you will do it. In fact you will kick arse at it. That you will laugh again, that you will get through it and that you should fucking take a chill pill already and just go with the flow.

(of course if Chef was answering that it’d simply be DON’T FORGET TO FEED THE BED SHARK.)

  • After a weekend with all you lovely lot, after tear jerking stories and lots of wine it was THIS that made me cry.

And I’m not even a Mum. But I’ll tuck it away, because maybe one day I’ll need the advice.

    I hope so.

LOL @ Chef … such a natural, instinctive, simple answer.

  • Just when you think you’ve got it sussed, they grow up a bit and change all the damn rules. That would be mine.

But mainly, if I was to go back 11 years, I would probably tell the woman who is just about to be pregnant not to bother stripping and sanding down that massive wooden trunk. You’ll throw it out in a year or two.
