How to do a meme and ensure it become a real dud of a post.

1. Go to and select the year (in the left sidebar) you turned 18.

2. Paste the list of the top 75 songs.

3. Bold the ones you liked; strike the ones you disliked; and italicize the ones you knew but didn’t exactly like or dislike. The ones you don’t know will stay plain text.

4. Badger did this to show what a suckful year 1984 was and I’m doing it to say, “Badge, I see your 1984 and raise you 1990.” It also shows how woeful my memory, interest and following of music is.

See, I think 1984 was a good year for music IF YOU WERE TWELVE. But not 18.

Yours kind of sucks too, though. I guess 1990 was a good year for hip-hop or something. I’m pretty sure I was holed up with my Ramones cassettes that whole year.

I love music from all eras- it is the sountrack of my life.
BUT 1990 must have been my year of sleeping- thank goodness!
    The ‘music’ was abysmal!

  • Aunty Evil

OMG, did we really listen to Jive Bunny? And like it? OMG.

You are right, that year sucks for sure.

I do know more of the songs than you have indicated you know, but they still sucked. No real classics that year.

Unless you include Jive Bunny “swing the mood”. OMG

Man, you don’t like the music much, do you ? 😉

I refuse to do these things, because they’re mainly American .. and as I spent my 18th year in the U.S., I know how shite the radio stations are there ..

At 18, I knew all the songs everywhere, as I was going to be the next Glenn A. Baker.

    How embarrassment.

I was wondering why you were doing this based on the USA music charts…

For real? You didn’t know the Lambada? Somehow, that makes you actually very cool.
I looked through this list and realised I had A LOT of it on 12″ vinyl. Yes, actual vinyl. I was such a DJ wannabe. This list actually would make a good reunion “mix tape” for me and my friends. Although “Opposites Attract – Paula Abdul” would definitely be left off!
