It’s scaring me

just how much I’m LOVING listening (and singing along to) Barry Manilow.

I’m sensing a need for an imminent intervention. But at the moment, when I singalong with Barry I completely forget about work. That’s an indication of the Power of Barry …

His drummer (I’m watching some show on Ovation) is wearing a sleeveless white button shirt with a bow-tie. One of the guitarists has a black sparkly detail armband detail on his jacket. Oh wait, Barry’s gyrating, the crowd is going WIIIIILLLLLDD.

    Kim,

Please, come back to us. Just put that KoolAid down and step in from the ledge.

hahaha – I now have this “He-Man” scene in my head, with you standing on top of a pile of people, holding an amplifier aloft as one might an ancient totem, shouting “By the Power of Barry!”

    Okay… I’m losing it too.

I remember my Nana reading about Barry in the Woman’s Weekly and saying he seemed like such a nice man and what a shame it was he didn’t have a wife yet.

Mind you, she said the same thing about Peter Allen, and Alan Jones…

I like your comment about not interupting children who are playing “nicely” – only a rank amateur would do that – which you definitely are NOT 🙂

Wish the kids at Daughter #1’s birthday party did as well – the “arts and crafts” I had supplied were over and done with in 30 minutes leaving me to ask Mr J “OK now what for the next hour and a half?” Not doing another one of those unaided EVER AGAIN!

As to Barry, whatever gets you through the day I say….

I will confess to being a closet Barry Manilow fan…. Shh. Don’t tell anyone.

Remember that meme that had the question: Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know?

I nearly wrote, “I used to have a mad crush on Barry Manilow, and I like his music.”

But you know, I thought better of it.

    “She sits there so refined
    And drinks herself half blind
    She lost her youth
    And she lost her tony
    Now she’s lost her mind”

The man was a genius. I think there’s something in that for all of us, don’t you? 🙂

I lurve me some Barry. Brings back memories of teeniebopper hopes and dreams, and I get lost in the nostalgia and feel those warm feelinga all over again. Of course, I might not have come out of the closet over this, had you not so boldly mentioned it!
