The previous post from Kim about AB leaving their kids alone with the barbeque running has inspired a curiously defensive response from the Professor and an email exchange between us that may make readers feel he has been poorly portrayed in my note to AB at the end of Kim’s post.
The emails follow.

that compared to AB’s effort last night, you both stack up pretty good in the Dad stakes. Read on… http://glamorouse.blogspot.com/

A trip to the ‘shops’ sounds like I jumped in the car and drove to the
supermarket 20Km away. Is this called ‘journalistic colour’?

Depends – maybe you have a fair point.
Five minutes down the road seems to me to be enough time for all three
kids to drown in a bucket, bleed to death on broken glass, choke on biscuits,
swallow rat poison, walk out under a car, strangle on the venetian
blinds cord or fall from the top garden bed headfirst into the brick paving –
but 20 minutes by car would probably have guaranteed it.
